We had a recent email from an ex-player, Paul Fisher:
It’s a long time ago now but I’m a former member of the band and was solo trombone player with the band between 1991-98 and had an absolutely wonderful time, not only as a player but also making friendships that have lasted a lifetime – Lynda Nicholson, Dave Thornton, Anna Hughes- Williams, Sheona White. It was some band!
It’s great to see the band enjoying success and I always keep my eye on what the band are up to from afar now, but remember when David Kaye first got involved with the band all that time ago!
I work as freelance trombonist/conductor/teacher nowadays down south, and currently conduct a 1st section band – Amersham Band.
I’m planning a programme this year and wanted to pay tribute to the late Simon Kerwin who was an integral part of the band all those years ago, and a brilliant musician too. He wrote an arrangement for band called “American Salute” by Martin Gauld for the band which is no longer available, but I wondered if there would be ANY chance I could loan it from you in return of a donation from my band? I’d be really grateful as I simply can’t find it anywhere else.
I look forward to a reply with fingers crossed!
