Wingates have had a much to celebrate over the past 12 months – as the picture shows! The celebrations began in February 2016, when the band gained 2nd place at the North West Area Championships and qualified to compete in the National Finals in October.

Chris joined the band three and a half years ago, when he moved from Scotland to Manchester to study at the RNCM. Around the World in 80 Minutes – opening concert of the Ribble Valley Music Festival 2017
After a busy month for Wingates, the band competed in the Brass at the Guild competition yesterday. This is a contest that has become well known as a good chance to “run out” the test piece for the Area Championships in February, which is exactly what the band did as we performed ‘Pageantry’ by Herbert Howells.
