Andy Mooney

Like most player I was introduced to the music world at the age of 7 at Northway Primary School, starting out on trombone. After leaving school and having changed instruments to BBb Base. An instrument which when I started playing was the last pitch before the triangle on the percussion section.
This I later found out not to be the case, but on the contrary is the back bone of any brass band. Not that the others would agree.
I joined Edge Hill British Railway Brass Band in 1978, Formby in 1989 and then luckily enough to be asked to join Bactiguard Wire Brass in 2007, going from 4th section to Championship section in one very steep curve.
Some of the many highlights until now are 4th Section National Champions 2007, having the privilege of playing at the Menin Gate during the Last Post Ceremony, (both with Formby), being involved with the radical style of Wire and of course now joining Wingates.
The only other interests (apart from wifey) is golf time permitting from work commitments.
